Plans
Optima Family Care
Optima Family Care is our Medicaid Medallion health plan. It covers babies, children, and teens, including those in foster care. Optima Family Care is also for adults up to age 64, pregnant women, and parents.
FAMIS
Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) is the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in Virginia. The income requirement is higher than Medicaid. Optima Health covers FAMIS members under age 19.
Optima Health Community Care
Our Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) plan is Optima Health Community Care. It covers adults age 65 or older, anyone with a disability, managed long-term services and supports, and nursing facility residents.
Optima Community Complete (HMO D-SNP)
When it comes to managing your Medicaid and Medicare benefits and care, it is easier working with one health plan. Your Optima Health care coordinator will take the lead connecting your coverage and services. Plus, you gain extra benefits when you choose Optima Health.

Open enrollment is the time of year when you have the chance to change your plan to Optima Health. It is Medicaid Medallion open enrollment in:
- Tidewater region: February 19, 2023 – April 30, 2023
- Central region: April 19, 2023 – June 30, 2023
