COVID-19 Coverage Extended to December 31

Optima Health understands the many stresses our members may have experienced throughout 2020. We remain committed to supporting our members and will continue to provide COVID-19 coverage through to the end of the year. The following cost-shares will be waived through December 31*.

  • all telehealth visits, including telephone only, with any in-network care provider
  • any necessary in-network or emergent out-of-network treatment of COVID-19

Diagnostic testing coverage will remain available consistent within the terms set in each group’s health plan. Throughout the duration of the public health emergency, Optima Health will waive all covered out-of-pocket member costs associated with COVID-19 diagnostic testing, as deemed appropriate by the ordering provider. Testing required for employment and other excluded services remain not covered.

We would also like to remind you that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends getting a flu vaccine earlier this fall to prevent the seasonal flu. This will allow healthcare professionals to better manage the COVID-19 pandemic, save lives, and preserve health care resources.
