Optima Health understands the many stresses our members may have experienced throughout 2020. We remain committed to supporting our members and will continue to provide COVID-19 coverage through to the end of the year. The following cost-shares will be waived through December 31*.

Gov. Northam Announces $70M COVID Grant Program

Governor Northam Announces $70 Million Rebuild VA Economic Recovery Fund for Small Businesses, Nonprofits Impacted by COVID-19. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to approximately 7,000 applicants.

Important Announcement from Optima Health: In September of 2019, we shared the news that Sentara Healthcare will become the majority owner of Virginia Premier and VCU Health System will retain a 20 percent ownership stake in Virginia Premier. We are pleased to announce that VCU Health System and Sentara Healthcare have finalized the transaction for joint ownership of Virginia Premier.

​COVID-19 Treatment Costs Waived

Optima Health is waiving member cost-sharing for the treatment of COVID-19 from health care providers from April 1 through June 7, 2020 for its fully-insured Commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans.
