Member COVID-19 Coverage Extended to February 28

Optima Health understands that the uncertainty of the upcoming year may bring even more stress to our members. Because we remain dedicated to supporting our members, Optima Health will continue to provide COVID-19 coverage into 2021.

We will waive the following member cost-shares through February 28, 2021*:

  • all telehealth visits, including telephone only, with any in-network care provider
  • any necessary in-network or emergent out-of-network treatment of COVID-19

Diagnostic testing coverage will remain available consistent within the terms set in each group’s health plan. Throughout the duration of the public health emergency, Optima Health will waive all covered out-of-pocket member costs associated with COVID-19 diagnostic testing, as deemed appropriate by the ordering provider. Testing required for employment and other excluded services remain not covered.

Optima Health is actively monitoring the release of the COVID-19 vaccine. We expect doses to become available to Phase I individuals - high-risk healthcare personnel, and staff and residents of long term care facilities (nursing homes) - very soon. We will provide more detailed information as it becomes available.

Throughout 2020, Optima Health has continued to evolve and find innovative ways to support our business partners and members during the pandemic. Learn more by viewing our Always Innovating video.

We would also like to remind you that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) strongly recommends getting a flu vaccine to prevent the seasonal flu. This will allow healthcare professionals to better manage the COVID-19 pandemic, save lives and preserve health care resources.
