2018 Out-of-Area PPO Plans
New documents approach for 2018 Out-of-Area (OOA) PPO Plans
New for 2018: Out-of-Area (OOA) PPO pre-sale documents will no longer be separate from their PPO counterparts.
This means that if a group has a Plus and a Plus OOA plan, they will have one combined Summary of Benefits (SOB) and one combined Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) instead of two for each. Titles may read: “Preferred Provider Organization/Out-of-Area” or “Plus/Plus OOA.”
This will apply to pre-sale documents like the SOB and SBC for all employer-sponsored group plans. Legal documents like contracts and the Certificate of Insurance will continue to be separated.
