The results of the 2007 Practitioner Satisfaction Survey showed significant changes when compared to the 2006 survey.
Surveys for Optima Health and Sentara Behavioral Health were combined due to the recent integration of the two organizations. In addition, a new expanded survey was mailed out which asked additional questions of the practitioners.
Over 6,000 surveys were disseminated; 1,132 w¬ere completed and returned.
Results showed two areas of concern: ease of formulary use and contact to Medical Directors. To address concerns regarding ease of formulary use, Pharmacy has created new denial letters that specifically address the reasons a medication was denied, as well as prescription alternatives. To address concerns regarding access to Medical Directors, an “on call” doctor has been implemented to address the daily phone calls from the physicians.
Other results showed:
- 78.7% were “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied” with Optima Health/Sentara Behavioral Health Services
- 48.8% were “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied” with member services
- 40.9% were “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied” with network management.
The 2008 survey will be mailed in the beginning of October. The 2008 survey will be administered the same way as the 2007 survey. If you receive a survey please take the time to fill it out. Your responses are important to us.
