Optima Health has partnered with Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS) to create a national network. Now, Optima Premier PPO members can use in-network benefits (lower out-of-pocket costs) for routine care when traveling out of the Hampton Roads area.
Important points to remember:
- You must be a covered Optima Premier PPO plan member.
- You must visit a participating PHCS provider for care.
- When you arrive at your appointment, show your healthcare provider your Optima Health member ID card.
- The in-network benefit only applies to PPO members who are traveling. PPO members need to visit Optima Premier PPO participating providers while in the health plan's service area. Locate an Optima Health provider.
- Optima Premier PPO members must still follow the procedures outlined in member materials regarding care to ensure coverage.
Optima Select HMO and Optima Advantage POS members can also use the PHCS network when an urgent or emergent healthcare need arises while traveling outside of the service area.
