Optima Health Medicare Preferred Plus may add or remove drugs from our drug list (also known as a formulary) during the year.
We will notify our members of a change to the drug list at least 60 days before the change becomes effective. The changes may include:
- Remove drugs from our formulary,
- Add prior authorization ,
- Add quantity limits and/or step therapy restrictions on a drug, and/or
- Move a drug to a higher cost-sharing tier.
The exception is if the Food and Drug Administration deems a drug on our drug list to be unsafe or if the drug's manufacturer removes the drug from the market. In those instances we will immediately remove the drug from our drug list.
