Dilated Eye Exams -- Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why do I need an annual dilated eye exam?
    Even if you can see fine, a regular dilated eye exam is an important part of vision care.
  2. How often do I need a dilated eye examination?
    You should have a dilated eye examination at least once per year.
  3. Are dilated eye exams covered?
    Yes. You are covered for a dilated eye exam once per year if you are a diabetic. Copayments may apply.  See your plan documents for more information. For additional information, members can call the Optima Health Vision Care Services Center at 1-888-610-2268.
  4. How do I find a provider?
    You have several options to find the nearest in-network provider:
