It’s here—the ability to view, print, file and save Explanation of Benefits without ever having to open a paper envelope again! Optima Health members can sign up to receive Optima Health Explanation of Benefits (EOB) by secure email. And they'll receive the EOBs faster than the mailed counterparts.
Opting to receive EOBs by email is easy—Optima Health members simply need to:
- Sign in to optimahealth.com with their username and password
- Choose the Update Personal Preferences menu item from the My Optima menu located on the left-hand side of the screen
- Select the member (or members) to update
(Subscribers, the*01 members, can begin receiving their EOBs and the EOBs of their covered dependents who are under 18. Members over 18 can opt to receive their own EOBs by email.)
- Confirm the email address and choose the method you wish to receive your EOB (email, paper and email, or paper)
- Upon choosing your preferences, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address on file
- Follow the instructions on the activation email in order to begin receiving EOBs electronically. If the instructions are not followed, the preferences will revert to paper EOBs.
Members can change their preferences at any time.

Worried about how it will work? That’s OK, members can opt to receive EOBs online and in paper. Once the member sees how convenient and easy online EOBs are, they'll jump at the chance to go “paperless.” And, preferences can be updated at any time.
