Gets ‘Excellent’ Accreditation on its Health Plan Report Card

(Virginia Beach, VA) –  Optima Health received  an ‘Excellent’ accreditation for the 11th consecutive year from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its commercial health plans and 10th consecutive year for its Medicaid HMO product, Optima Family Care.  Optima Health is Virginia’s only commercial HMO to maintain NCQA’s highest accreditation status since 1998.

NCQA’s ‘Excellent’ Accreditation status is reserved for the best health plans in the nation. It is only awarded to those plans that meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and deliver excellent clinical care.  This review process occurs every three years.
