Virginia Beach, VA – December 13, 2007 -- Optima Health has appointed David W. Hart as its new individual sales manager.

At Optima, he is responsible for sales, training, maintaining and growing all distribution channels within the state of Virginia. Hart has 18 years experience in healthcare sales, marketing, product development, provider networks and distribution channels management. 

Prior to joining Optima, he was an employee benefits specialist with Strategic Employee Benefit Services, an independent insurance agency/brokerage focusing on employee benefits.  As an employee benefits specialist, Hart gained a keen understanding of the needs and challenges faced by the consumer as well as the broker.  The majority of his experience has been with John Alden Health and American Medical Security marketing group and individual products through the agent community and direct channels. 

He began his career in Denver, Co. and in 1998, he was given the opportunity to move to Richmond, Va. to open up a regional sales office.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Economics from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Co.

Hart resides in Norfolk and enjoys boating, playing golf, and tennis. 

Optima Health expects to begin offering individual and family health plans throughout Virginia in early 2008.
